New-Build Home Electrical Installation
Plan the electrics as part of the build
A new build offers the chance to put sockets, lighting, controls and specialist systems in the right place from the beginning. Electrical plans should be reviewed alongside the kitchen, heating, furniture and external layouts so that services do not conflict. Clear scheduling also matters because first fix, second fix, testing and final connections must fit around other trades.

Testing and handover
Inspect and test the completed installation, provide the relevant certification and make sure the main controls and systems are clearly identified.
Controls and connected systems
Plan electrical provision for heating, data, security, gates, smart controls and other fixed equipment included in the build.
Power and lighting
Install circuits, sockets, switches, internal lighting, external supplies and the distribution equipment required for the new home.
A complete new-build electrical package
The specification can cover the core installation and any additional systems agreed for the property.

Working from drawings and specifications
Architectural drawings are a useful starting point, but the electrical layout still needs detailed decisions. Final positions, equipment ratings and product information should be agreed before each installation stage. Changes can be accommodated where practical, but early decisions help protect the programme and budget.
