What is a domestic EICR?
An EICR is an inspection and test of the fixed wiring, circuits and electrical accessories within a property. It is not simply a quick look at the consumer unit. The inspection helps establish whether the installation is in a satisfactory condition for continued use and identifies items that may need attention. The completed report explains the findings using recognised observation codes, which should then be discussed in plain English.

Homes rented under an occupation contract in Wales need a valid electrical condition report. The report, its outcome and any required remedial work need to be handled in line with current Welsh requirements.

Understanding the result
The report will state whether the installation is satisfactory or unsatisfactory. If observations are recorded, Hubbard Electrical can explain what they mean, which items require urgent attention and what remedial work is recommended. A quotation for that work can then be prepared separately.
